Before he won the National Book Award for The Underground Railroad, Colson Whitehead wrote Zone One, a novel set in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies (or skels) fought survivors. Jeffrey H. Cohen, Professor in the Department of Anthropology at The Ohio State University, will talk about the place of zombies in contemporary American culture and explore how they become a complex and contradictory symbol for the "other" or outsider.
